I'm not sure if this was my 4th or 5th time hiking in Mo'Ole Valley, but I do know I have never ventured past waterfall #2....
Plus, the little dude in front probably could out hike me on most trails. Kid is a beast!
Look at that concentration. He fought me for the lead position the whole way :-).
The always beautiful scenery in the valley.
Of course we have to stop for a smoke break once in awhile.....Ok, not me and actually not smoke. Amy is simply posing per my request and that is vapor, not smoke :-).
This just after exiting the mud-filled tunnel. I don't even wanna think about what is in there, but we sure did walk through it.....twice.
And again....cuz...ya know...why not?
No sun shining through to make this web pop, but I think they're cool looking. You can see the creator of this web in the middle.
Same web with falls #1 to the left.
I thought I took a group pic with everyone looking at me. Guess not lol
Starting the climb above #1, on the way to what I thougth was #2.
The baby-wearing mamas decided to go back from here. Since I got us lost, it was a good decision on their part.
This is standing at the top of falls #3. Yeah, about half way to 3, I realized I had skipped by #2. Didn't have time to go back, but glad we continued on to this one. A beautiful and peaceful place back in the valley.
Heather and Shannon on the other side of the falls.
And the above, of course, the aforementioned falls #3. #2 is much bigger and I hear the biggest of the 7-12 falls in the valley (I've heard 7 and as many as 12.) One day I'll figure it out :-).
The pic above really doesn't do this view justice. It's kind of a mini falls between 2 and 3. 3 would be behind me in this pic and the pool you're looking at is the top of #2. And of course the view out into the city. Next time I'll go on a vog-less, clear day and I bet this shot is even more amazing!
Back to that lovely mud-filled tunnel...
And the end. Easy from here....or it should have been anyway. Got a little lost, but nothing too bad :-).
The final stats....
FMF (Fat-Man-Factor)(FMF is a difficulty scale from 1-10, from an out of shape, fat, white guy's point of view): 5 This one gets a 5 cuz I'm fat, but if I hiked here every week, I wouldn't be for long. The hike to falls #1 isn't much of a workout; mostly flat. Had we went to #2, that's not much either, but the trip to #3 is uphill and quite the workout. Plus, at nearly 6 miles, my dogs are still barkin several hours later.
Great hike though. The tunnel makes it a unique experience if you have adventurous kids you need to get motivated to get out of the house :-).
