Waihee Falls

Today the Oahu Hikers took the familiar trek toward Hamama Falls.  Off of that trail is another leading to Waihe'e Falls, which was our destination today.

See all of these images in full resolution by clicking here.

Let's get to it....

Even the road to the trailhead is beautiful.

Lots of new faces with the group today.  I won't pretend to remember all of the names or how to spell them :-).

A few places along the way to snap some pics.

K doing what K does.

Pretty sure this was followed by Fred, with a deep Jersey accent, saying, "hey, you lookin at me?"

We waited long enough.....annnd we're off.

Pausing for a group shot before we head down to Waihe'e.

And the falls.  Yet another hidden beauty of Oahu.  Never got a really good shot of it due to trees and such, but there's 2 more falls above this one.

Chris giving what appears to be his weekly "best side" pose.

A few money shots of the falls.

Another group shot.  Don't miss Chris, Khym and Cindy up top.

Just about everyone posed for a pic in the hammock.  Since it belongs to Fred, it was only fitting to include him in it here :-).

A few more of the falls before we head back to the pool for a little jumping fun.

Chris learned to fly.

Pretty sure Kristina already knew how to fly and is trying out the whole "walking on air" thing.

And Khym....can't swim, but thankfully can fly as well.

How bout a lil video?

Not sure why this shot is here other than I thought Khym's stylish apparel needed some blog time.  You're welcome.

FMF (Fat-Man-Factor)(FMF is a difficulty scale from 1-10, from an out of shape, fat, white guy's point of view): 5  About half from easy to miserable.  5 just seems right.  Nothing too difficult here.  80% of this hike is on a service road.  The final 20% is a bit more tricky with rock hopping, mud, etc., but again, nothing life-threatening in my view.  As usual though, your view might be different.  Be safe!
